Turkey's Largest Wind Power Plant, Geycek WPP Was Commissioned

Turkey's largest wind power plant Geycek WPP with 150 MW installed capacity was commissioned on January 30, 2015 with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Emine Erdogan, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz, EMRA Chairman Mustafa Yilmaz and many guests.

The power plant will meet the electricity consumption of 150 thousand people and will reduce the natural gas bills by 40 million dollars every year by generating 400 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year. Geycek WPP will reduce 245,000 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent to 20 million trees per year.
