Among renewable energy sources, wind power is the one that is more available for development. It is estimated that regions on the Marmara and Aegean coasts of Turkey, in particular, have, in economical terms, about 25.000-30.000 MW of wind potential. Until today, only 146 MW of this potential has been used. According to estimates by EPDK (Energy Market Regulatory Autority), the total wind power is provisioned to reach approximately 600 MW with the commissioning of 453 MW installed capacity in 2008. |
